Justin is a veteran of multiple combat tours. While in combat Justin received multiple emerging technologies that his Soldiers conducted limited user assessments on giving him a first hand appreciation for the gap in understanding between technical developers and Warfighter end users. These experiences provided Justin with the opportunity to work for the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) which directed and synchronized all Counter-IED (CIED) acquisitions for the DoD upon the conclusion of his military service.
While at JIEDDO Justin gained valuable experience in rapid acquisition practices and it's advantage over conventional acquisition practices as well as technology development. He provided support to the development of over a dozen new technologies and led the fielding of four technologies to Warfighter end users in combat operations.
Justin considers his best skill to be identifying risk in the development process and since joining Asymmetric Technologies has worked with both internal development programs and with external development programs at eliminating or controlling those risks to reduce the cost and schedule while increasing the performance of an emerging technology.
